Main Characters’ Back story

Krystal (Main Female character)

General

She was born and grown in decadent part of the city. She was one of the best bodyguards in town. She learnt how to fight and to protect people since she was four years old. Even though many rich families want her to work for them, she wanted to work for the poor people only because she thought that poor people also need a protection. She was nice to every one who did not hurt her in the first place, so she became the hero of her family and the people around the area, where she was living. She loved to spend time with the children. For example, she liked to teach them how to fight, protect themselves, be a good person and help developing the society. In addition, she did not like associating with rich people because she thought that rich people did not do anything good to the society and they were simply selfish, so she did not take any job that had to do with rich people. Her hope and main goal is to create the bodyguard institution for the poor people.

Family

Krystal was raised by her uncle, Sam, because her parents died since she was four years old, and she saw them shot with a gun in front of her face and could do anything. However, she had a warm family, but the member of the family did not actually related to each other; just only her uncle and her who were relatives. People in her family were, in the past, a criminal before, but then turned into a good person because of Krystal’s uncle. Moreover, almost every one in her family knew how to fight and help protect the poor people from any kind of robbery, but only Krystal and Sam who had a bodyguard license. She was in fact the center of the family a part from Sam, so every body looked up to her and listened to her.

Personal

She was a very forthright girl. She was very serious about being a bodyguard because she would do her bets to protect and keep someone her loved from harm; she did not want the same happened to her parents to happen again. Her flaw was that she put too much emotion into her work. She usually became angry when people talk bad about her family, became sad and cried when thought of her parents, and she could actually laugh and smile when she was with her family member and her uncle. She always put her knees up when she was sad or thinking about something. Her most traumatic thing in her life was the time when her parents died, and she always dreamt about it. Besides this, she enjoyed doing any kind of training and fighting such as boxing, Karate, Hapkido, Taekondo and Kendo. She had a strong kick and body. She did not like to use guns because it would remain her of her parents’ deaths, but actually she could use it very well and would turn into a crueler person when using a gun. Her idol was her uncle, Sam. Her own principle was “If decided to protect someone already, will give the best to keep that person self.”

Thunder (Main Male Character)

General

Thunder was born and grown in one of the richest families in the country. He had won a noble prize for inventing technology object; he was very good at inventing things and loved to do it, but did not have many chances to do it. He did not like to have a bodyguard because he thought it was the waste of money and time because on one could protect him from harm. He was kidnapped for 31 times, which was the reason why he hated criminals and never wanted to associate with them. The two main reasons why he was usually kidnapped because people wanted him to invented something for them, or they wanted money from his family. He believed that women were incapable of doing anything especially pretty women, learnt it from his mother. His hope and main goal was to be able to make a decision by himself, do anything and successful by himself and invent things that can help people. He was never been nice to anyone but Kevin, his secretary, even the maid who was cleaning his bedroom or the chef who was cooking for him.

Family

His family was very rich and very well known among both rich and poor people. He was raised by his secretary, Kevin because his mother and father were working all the time, and he could barely see their faces, just only when they wanted him to do anything for them. He was always taught to behave like an adult since he was five, so he would be capable to take over his family business. He was always watched over by many people who were sent by his parents in order to keep him stayed in the rules and did what they told him to do, and he was not able to make any decision by himself. He did not trust anyone except Kevin because he believe that everyone else was sent by his parents or always wanted something from him, so he did not have any friends. Furthermore, everyone who was working in his house was afraid to talk and face him.

Personal

Thunder was a contumacious boy. He was always alone by himself and did not talk much to someone else. He never did something for anyone because he never believed in friendship. He had a schedule for his daily life everyday. For example, when he finished his class in the school in the afternoon, he had to take extra classes later like piano, violin, golf, management, laws and international tradition. In addition, he had not laughed and smiled for a long time since he was pushed too much to achieve his parents’ goal. He would feel sad when he thought of his family business and his parents, and he would become very angry when someone broke his privacy. He liked to test his invented objects on his maids or someone who was close to him, which was often Kevin. He hated to be in the sunlight in the morning.

9: Halloween

Filed under: Uncategorized — pinkypanter @ 10:57 am

Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe that everything that happened in your life was already planed? Halloween clearly gave us an idea that Laurie, who was the main actor, would be the person who face and fight with the killer because she will be the person who survive. In addition, Halloween was a horror film, which set the rules and standard for the modern horrors and was claimed to be the most successful independent horror film ever made, directed by John Carpenter. It was mainly about a killer who killed his sister since he was very young and was locked up in the hospital, but he came back to the same town again on the Halloween day. The film first opened with the point of view of the killer, which after that we know that he was only a child. The point of view that showed at the beginning introduced the audience that the purpose of the film was that we identify the victim not the killer, and the purpose of the shot was to make the audience become the killer and understand him. Moreover, when we watch the film there will be a question in our mind that why did Michael kill his sister? Why he did not kill everyone, and who was his victim? We can notice the reason why Michael killed his sister because she was no longer innocent because she had sex with her boyfriend, which was a normal rule for horror and sci-fi that having sex is a bad thing, and broke the law of nature and pure. Michael did not kill everyone, which we can see from the scene when he bump into a kid and did not do anything to him, but he killed only the person who was no longer innocent or guilty people, and another thing we can notice is that Michael only killed the person who was similar to his sister but the other victims was only a sideline. Also, we can see the changes of Laurie when through out the film, which was that she became less pure from time to time because of her friends and environment in order to get closer to the killer. We can say that in horror, the least pure character will die first, and the most pure character will survive.

For me, even though I’m not a horror film watcher, Halloween was a great horror film, which was very entertaining, and it introduced us many great story telling techniques and it also influence the modern day horror films in many ways…

8: The Terminator

What are the differences between machines and humans? The Terminator was science fiction action film directed by James Cameron. It was about a robot that was sent back from the future to kill a girl who would have an effect on the future of the machine. The film presented the idea of how the machines were different of humans, which are that the machines do not have any feeling and emotion. Their goal was only to succeed their mission, they would not stop until they finished it. The machine would not change their mind, and they only know what they had been told. They did not know what is good or bad. Also, we can see this in the scene when Reese, the person who came from the future, told Sarah, who would get killed by the machine, about the terminator, and the scene when the terminator got up the killed Sarah even thought he was burned in fire and was hit by the bomb. In addition, the film also presented the idea of the failure of the machine, and will bring death or disaster, even a daily using machine, which can be seen in the scene when Sarah’s friend got killed because she listen to the walkman and did not hear that the terminator was killing her boyfriend. Besides this, we can clearly notice the failure of the machine from the scene when Sarah talked to her mother on the phone without knowing that her mother was already killed and it was actually the terminator who was talking to her, so the terminator knew where Sarah was from that. Moreover, the characters in the film were presented in an interesting way. Sarah, the leading female character, showed the development through the film. She was an ordinary girl who failed to be like every other normal people in the society even though she tried to fit in, but then she was developed to be stronger and more charming girl, who gave the feeling of this girl will give the birth to the person who will destroy the machine, John Corner. Also, Reese, whom, if we compare to the western heros, could be claimed that he was different from western hero and was not a real hero even though he came to protect Sarah. He was not actually strong and talked a lot about himself, which is not normal for the western hero, and he just came back in time because he was in love with Sarah not because he was brave or so on. Furthermore, the terminator, who was presented as a killer or a villain, could be considered as a western hero because he did not talk much and aimed to finish the job because he was program to do, which he did not know what is good or bad, like the western hero…

For me, this film is one of the best sci-fi films that showed many great film techniques and story telling. It used a great special effect that best helped telling the story and created excitement and enjoyment, which was also consider huge special effect at that time, and even though the film was made a long time ago, it is still cool and fun to watch…

7 : Time Crime (Los Cronocrimenes)

Cronocrimenes

Have you ever thought about turning back time? Or have you ever thought about going back to fix something in the past? Time Crime, or Los Cronomenes, is a sci-fi and crime film directed by Nacho Vigalondo. The film was made in a low budget but still be one of the a good example of a sci-fi film. Also, because of that the movie became more real to the aundience, and it played with time running back and forward without confusing the audience. In addition, the film started off with a man, Hector, who seemed like an innocent and harmless man and just wanted to see what happened in the forest.  But when the story moved on, we could notice that the atmosphere, the sound and character gave different feeling when Hector got back in time or when the time changed. Hector tried to get rid of himself in order to be able to go back home, like the same person cannot live together in this world, and the story played the same sequence before Hector got back in time again but we, as the audiences, already know what had happened to Hector already, and the story became more complicated when the third Hector appeared and tried to stopped Hector 2. Moreover, the film were very interested and excited because it showed different point of view of each Hector and need the answer why this and that had happened. Furthermore, we could notice the changes of the film, and got the idea that even though the film ended, the story might keep on going.

For me, the film was very well written because we did not get confused when the time or the main character, who told the story, changed. The film is considered a very unique  sci-fi and crime film, and the audiences got scared, shock and amazed while watching the film. Also, the film let us think about what will happen next when the film ended. I learned that the good film dose not have to use a lot of money to make it…

Have you ever think about what will happen after you did something illegal like robbing a bank? What will happen if the money you robbed is also an illegal money, someone try to kill you for doing that? “Charley Varrick” was another film that was directed by Don Siegel. It was mainly about Charley Varrick, the main character, who robbed a small bank, and it turned out that the money that he robbed was the money that belongs to the gangster who wanted to illegally transfer to somewhere else. Also, the gangster and the police were after him, and killed his partners one by one. The film had a nice ending sequence, which made the audience understand the whole story, which was that Charley was the real killer and good at what he dose, which was robbing and killing. The film ended with the scene that Charley killed the guys who came after him even though the moment showed that he was almost lost, but he actually planned it. Then, in the end, he got away with all the money, which was the scene that present the idea that Charley was a real killer, and he was like a hero in the film because he looked cool and did not care about killing people in order to get what he wants, and he solved the problem in a genius way. In addition, the film also show the code of the criminal, which was that he had to work alone, and the film also showed the sequence that he had to left his wife burned in order to get away with another partner.

The film showed how the real robber and killer should be in a nice narrative way. It introduced a nice and great crime film, which I found that it was enjoyable and great to study about…

Have you ever thought that the law is unfair? Or have you ever thought about why the law has a lot of loophole?  And have you ever thought about why someone who did something wrong do not get punished? “Dirty Harry” was a crime film directed and produced by Don Siegel. It was mainly about a police officer who tried to catch a killer, who had killed innocent people for many times. Furthermore, the main theme of this film is about a law that has a loophole for the guilty people to be free. There were several scenes that referred to the rights of human beings, which was in this case claimed as the way to let the guilty person, the killer, go.  We can easily notice the theme of the film from two main scenes, which were the scene when Harry, the main character, finally catched the killer, and the killer said that he has the rights of having a lawyer to represent him even though everyone knew that he was completely guilty because we can see that he had killed many people before, and he should not even ask for the second chance. In addition, another scene that we can see the main theme was the scene when the chief of police told Harry that they would let the killer go and Harry do not agree with that statement because the killer will kill again and he was too guilty to be letting go, but because Harry broke into the killer’s home illegally and tortured him to obtain a confession about a girl he kidnapped, he was released without any charge and punishment. Harry also said the line “Well, the law is crazy”, which clearly linked back to the main theme.

Moreover, the film showed the difficultly of being a good policed and how polices devoted themselves to their duty and to protect people. For me, “Dirty Harry” was a great crime film that introduced the idea of violence and a little drama of a police’s life…
